STEVENAGE SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
About
Stevenage Symphony Orchestra is a friendly amateur orchestra comprising musicians from across Hertfordshire and surrounding areas. We typically perform 3 concerts a year.

The aims of the orchestra are to provide quality performances of classical music for local people, and to enhance the enjoyment and understanding of the music for its members.

We often perform with other local musicians - from our Family Concerts involving school children from the "Wider Opportunities" scheme; to joint concerts such as our performance of Mozart's Requiem with the Orpheus Choir of North Herts earlier in 2012.

Concert repertoire is varied, including large scale works like Holst's "The Planets", Mahler's 4th Symphony, Mendelssohn's "Elijah", Karl Jenkins' "The Armed Man"; alongside classics by great composers such as Mozart and Beethoven.

The orchestra is expertly directed by conductor, Tom Briers.
